New Pacifica

New Pacifica
(or how I put 6,000 miles on my Toyota Camry)

On July 3rd, 1995 I embarked on a journey into what I thought would be the new heart ofAmerica. My path would carry me through the future heart of this country:  the South,  the Southwest, and the Northwest, as well as Florida, Texas and California. Ienvisioned an idyllic voyage, embodying the best of Kerouac and  Thoreau. I wasaccompanied by three friends/acquaintances (Jane, Angie and Kara), two dogs and all of ourworldly goods, packed into my 86 Camry and an old VW bus. It was to be a once in alifetime journey.
This is my story.
